Decision Support System of Economic Development Indicators
                    (DSS-ECODEV)
   ----------------------------------------------------------
    Objective :
For systematic planning, informatics is a vital necessity for
any sector without any exception. In view of this importance
of information systems and databases, the National
Informatics Centre,Khurda District Unit has successfully
developed and implemented the Module-I of DSS-ECODEV of the
district. In this background the present system in its
current form is designed by integrating Data, Technique and
Software with the related sectorwise economic development
    indicators.
As the Block is the smallest developmental Unit and the
district is the basic administrative unit in the country, and
is a very important link in the chain of the Indian System of
governance, the DSS-ECODEV provide the users and planners
about the ranking of blocks in a district or district of a
state according to their economic developments in different
sectors. The current system emphasis the stages of
developments of blocks into five categories such as very
developed, developed, developing, backward and very backward.
The data source of the software has taken from District
Statistical Hand Book published by District Statistical
Office. It is a User-Friendly System which formulates the
models on its own and generate various types of analysis
    reports.
